Student-Directed Learning

Interested in learning more about student-directed learning?  Check out the articles below!  For the ONLINE learning station, the first article, "8 Things to Look for in a Student-Centered Learning Environment," is the one you will read and discuss as a table.

Also -- if you are interested in digging deeper, consider one of the PPfT Leadership Pathways.  Several teachers at AHS are currently enrolled in the PBL pathway, and we also have graduates of Technology Leadership, SEL, and Literacy pathways. All focus on strategies to increase student-directed learning.

Student-Centered Instruction for ALL

How do I attempt student-centered learning in a classroom that struggles with readiness or behavior in the most structured of environments???  There are no easy answers, but this teacher makes the case for trying, anyway. Because ALL students should have access to experiences that are authentic and relevant.
